309L is a submerged arc wire for use in combination with flux 300B, depositing a 23% Cr / 13% Ni austenitic stainless steel weld metal with a ferrite content of about FN 10. 309L provides reduced carbon levels (0.03% max) that offers increased resistance to inter-granular corrosion, ideal for joining stainless steels to themselves or to carbon or low alloy steels, and can be used at temperatures up to 700°F (371°C).
